आदि केशव घाट के बारे में
As the Ganga enters Kashi from the north, she bows — and this is the spot where that bow begins. The Adi Keshav Ghat is located at the confluence of the Varuna River and the Ganga River. It also marks the spot where Lord Vishnu is believed to have first set foot in the city. Also called the Varuna-Ganga Sangam Ghat, it is situated at the edge of the Kashi Kshetra.
The ghat is situated near the Adi Keshav Temple and holds significant mythological importance as the Vishnu teerth. The Gahadavala rulers used to bathe and offer donations at this ghat. Originally, it was a natural clay embankment. But in 1790, stone embankments were constructed by a Maratha aristocrat of the Scindias of Gwalior.
Pilgrims come not in droves, but in devotion, seeking the grace of beginnings — for this is a ghat of origin, of the first steps before the journey deepens.
