भदैनी जैन मंदिर के बारे में
At Bhadaini Ghat—also called Jain Ghat—beside the Ganga, there stands a serene pilgrimage site known as Shri Bhadaini Tirth, dedicated to Lord Suparshvanatha, the seventh Jain Tirthankara.
Local traditions recount that this sacred spot witnessed four Kalyanaks or holy milestones of Suparshvanatha: conception, birth, renunciation, and enlightenment. His devotees believe that celestial events marked each stage and devoted pilgrims set foot here long before formal temples arose.
The modern shrines—a pair of Digambara and Svetambara temples—were built in the mid 19th century, but their sanctity has ancient roots: the idol of Suparshvanatha faces a marble courtyard, and nearby footprints or Charan Paduka remind pilgrims of his earthly presence.
Each idol—a white marble Suparshvanatha about 68 cm tall of Svetambara and 46 cm tall of Digambara —stands beneath the hood of a serpent, recalling the Tirthankara’s emblem and protective symbol.
Here, beside gentle river murmurs, pilgrims often pause in prayer or meditation—circling the shrine, touching the footprints, and embracing a timeless promise of peace and self realization. In Varanasi’s many spiritual streams, Bhadaini Jain Temple offers a path of stillness, where birth, renunciation, and enlightenment converge quietly on the riverbank— reminding us that truth sometimes speaks in marble and memory.
