ब्रह्म घाट के बारे में
Among the many ghats that line the Ganga’s sacred edge, Brahma Ghat carries the name of the Creator himself — Lord Brahma, the one from whom the cosmos emerged. And yet, in Varanasi, even the creator is said to have paused — not to make, but to meditate.
This is the same place Brahma came to stay after being ordered by Shiva, as mentioned in the Kashi Khand of the Skanda Purana. He also established a lingam called Brahmaeshwar. A small shrine marks his presence, often overlooked by passersby. It has a 13th century Brahma statue, with the ghat being cemented in 1740 by Narayan Dixit.
Unlike the grander ghats, Brahma Ghat is unassuming. But the energy here is still — as if waiting. Pilgrims who know its story sit longer. To sit at Brahma Ghat is to understand that even creation must bow — that in Kashi, the river teaches all, even the gods.
