Located in the Cantonment area of Varanasi, St. Mary's Cathedral is an architectural wonder established in the year 1854. Earlier known as St. Mary's Church, it attained the status of a cathedral in June 1970. Julian Crastow, OFM, was designed by Sri Krishna Menon and blessed on 11 February 1993.

The main attraction of this church, with its low tower, spire and projecting portico, is its lobed doors instead of windows under plain cornice and hooded ventilation, alternating with two bays, each with a white stucco niche.
