Ganesh Ghat

गणेश घाट

गणेश घाट के बारे में

Ganesh Ghat, a modest and lesser-known riverfront in Varanasi, is named after Lord Ganesh, the deity of beginnings and remover of obstacles.

This was part of the Agnishwar ghat till the beginning of the 19th century. Peshwa Amritrao stone-paved and constructed an Amrit Vinayak or Ganesh temple here in 1807, and hence the name Ganesh ghat. This ghat is woven into the daily life of Kashi— where locals pray for good beginnings and blessings on all their endeavours – big and small.
