Gwalior Ghat

ग्वालियर घाट

ग्वालियर घाट के बारे में

Gwalior Ghat in Varanasi is historically significant as a site renovated by the Gwalior royal family in the 19th century. It is believed to be an extension of the Jatar Ghat and gained prominence after being renovated by Maharaja Jiyajirao Scindia of Gwalior. Part of the old Chor ghat, it was renamed the Gwalior ghat after the renovation.

The ghat is known for its association with the Akash Deep celebration during Kartik month and the continued tradition of royal family visits during festivals. The architecture still eflects echoes of Rajput elegance — arched windows, faded murals, and the quiet symmetry of a bygone palace watching the river.
