प्रह्लाद घाट के बारे में
fore the river, before the rituals — there was faith. Raw, fearless, and unwavering. Prahlad Ghat is not just a place by the water; it’s a reminder of what happens when the soul refuses to bow to tyranny. The famous slaying of the demon Hiranyakashipu by Lord Vishnu as the Narasimha form to save his worshipper Prahlada is said to have taken place here.
Prahlad Ghat is mentioned in Gahadavala inscriptions from the 11th-12th centuries. It is also known for being the place where Tulsidas resided before writing the Ramcharitmanas. The ghat is a place of religious importance, with temples dedicated to Narasimha and other deities. Locals organize a play depicting Prahlad's life every year at the ghat, considered one of the oldest such events in Varanasi. Every year, on the eve of Holi, this ghat becomes a site of flames and joy — the Holika Dahan ceremony — when locals light bonfires to reenact that night of divine protection and the triumph of innocence.
To sit here is to be reminded of the unwavering faith a young boy had for the Divine.
