प्रयाग घाट के बारे में
Prayag Ghat, nestled just south of Dashashwamedh Ghat in Varanasi, is a quiet sanctuary often overlooked by the crowds. Named after the word “Prayag,” meaning sacrifice or confluence, it evokes the deeper symbolism of Varanasi as a meeting point of faith, culture, and longing.
Constructed by Balaji Bajirao in 1778, this ghat replicates the holy city of Prayagraj. Prayag Ghat is considered a sacred site for performing ancestral rituals and the Pind Daan. Pind Daan is a Hindu ritual where offerings are made to the deceased, with the belief that it helps their souls attain peace and liberation. Devotees believe that rituals performed here bring peace to the souls of ancestors and ensure liberation.
