Ram Ghat

रामघाट

रामघाट के बारे में

Ram Ghat in Varanasi stretches gracefully along the holy banks of the Ganges, where history, devotion, and daily life intertwine in a timeless dance. Named after Lord Rama, this ghat is a quiet sanctuary away from the more crowded riverfronts, inviting pilgrims and seekers into a space of calm and spiritual reflection. Ram Ghat is considered a sacred place because of its association with Lord Rama's exile. It's believed that he, Sita, and Lakshmana bathed in the Mandakini River, now the Ganga, at this spot.

Close to Ram Ghat lies the revered Sangved Sanskrit Vidyalaya, an ancient center dedicated to the study and preservation of the Rigveda, the oldest of the four Vedas. Here, scholars and students immerse themselves in the sacred hymns, chanting with devotion that echoes across time, linking the present to a distant, sacred past. Students of this school have to live the life of a monk. They strictly abide by celibacy, chastity, yoga, and meditation rules. Perhaps, this school is one of it’s kind in India.
