राना महल घाट के बारे में
Rana Mahal Ghat, nestled between busier stretches of Varanasi’s riverfront, was built in the late 17th century by Raja Rana Jagat Singh of Udaipur, a Rajput king drawn not by conquest, but by pilgrimage and reverence. He constructed both the ghat and the adjoining Rana Mahal, a palace of pale sandstone and Rajasthani elegance that still stands today.
As per the Kashi Khand of Skanda Purana, sixty-four ‘yoginis’ were sent to Varanasi by Lord Shiva to destabilize the rule of King Divodas. All the ‘yoginis’ were enthralled by the charm of Varanasi and decided to settle down in Kashi itself. This palace at Rana Mahal ghat houses the 64 yogini temples.
Rana Mahal Ghat teaches that true leadership bows before the sacred, and that stillness is its own kind of strength.
