संत रविदास घाट के बारे में
There are ghats built by kings. Others, by saints. But Sant Ravidas Ghat is different — it is built by remembrance, and by a people’s rising voice. This ghat was where Sant Ravidas, the 15th – 16th century Bhakti poet, saint, and social reformer used to stay. Born here into a family of leather workers, he rose above caste with nothing but the power of his words — verses that flowed like the river, simple yet infinite. This ghat was carved out from the old Rajghat in the early 90s. Today, a large temple dedicated to him stands near the ghat, built with contributions from followers across the world. Pilgrims — especially from the Ravidasia and Dalit communities — gather here to celebrate not just a saint, but a voice that broke centuries of silence. The ghat, and Sant Ravidas himself, are significant symbols behind the struggle for social equality. To stand at Sant Ravidas Ghat is to stand where faith was once radical — where devotion meant defiance, and the river accepted all, as she always has.
